Arthroplasty
A NiTi suture seals veins that have been opened for catheterization. NiTi stitches can now be applied arthroscopically providing a high integrity seal while minimizing invasive techniques. This closure method significantly reduces critical recovery time.

Pipe coupling
NiTi allows weldless pipe couplings in crowded and heat-intolerant environments where welding isn't feasible, like in the nose cone of a plane. Our NiTi collar allows a hydraulic line to be repaired with no heat, no electromagnetic field, and without requiring room to weld.
The way it works is this: Imagine that you have two hydraulic pipes in a submarine or aircraft. The pipes have an outside diameter of one inch (1.000").
Now imagine a NiTi collar with an inside diameter of 0.950". To make the collar fit over the pipe, chill the collar with liquid nitrogen so you can stretch it and slip it over one end of pipe. Now put the two ends of the pipe together and slide the collar over the seam. As the collar warms it tries to get back to 0.950" inside diameter and, in the process, provides a high integrity seal without the problems of welding, such as heat, EMF interference, room to work, radiography and more.

BETA III (CNA) Titanium
In addition to nickel titanium, Ultimate NiTi works with other alloys as well. One of them is a proprietary grade of Beta III Titanium which we call CNA. This high strength, biocompatible titanium alloy was developed by Ultimate for use in the orthodontic market. Because of its unique qualities it is currently being used to develop products in the medical and commercial markets.
